Mastic Asphalt Flooring
Mastic Asphalt is the ultimate protection for a wide range of applications. The primary use of Asphalt is for waterproofing due to its impervious waterproofing qualities. This is attributed to its high concentration of bitumen and of course bitumen is a by-product of the petroleum refinement.
When exposed to extremely high temperatures, Mastic Asphalt forms a thick liquid substance which can be poured and spread over a surface.
In its many forms mastic asphalt excels in Flooring, Roofing, Tanking and Paving applications where a smooth, seamless, durable surface is required. It acts as a tough working surface and damp-proof membrane in flooring and is ideal for paving, offering a durable wearing surface.
The original Asphalt was often known as Trinidad Asphalt and it was the Architects choice for waterproofing. It was both durable and flexible and gives many years of service.
